OLYMPIACOS DC UPSL DMV SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Olympiacos DC's Men's Semi-professonal Team who were crowned champions of the UPSL DMV South Premier Division! The boys played hard and with heart overcoming a questionable man down advantage for the majority of the second half. Dozens came out and braved the cold to support the team. Olympiacos DC will face-off against South Carolina United Heat in the first round of the UPSL National Playoffs - Round of 32 on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 3pm, Eastern Time.  The match will be held at Bryan Park Soccer Complex in North Carolina and will be livestreamed on Vyre Network at vyre.tv/sportstv.

Congratulations to the club's Management Team, Technical Director and Head Coach Philipp Wank, assistant coaches, players and families at Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC on their first UPSL Northeast Conference Premier Division Championship! Good luck in the National Playoffs!

NORTH AMERICAN OLYMPIACOS FC ACADEMIES REPRESENT IN GREECE AT RENTI TRAINING GROUNDS

Players from North American Olympiacos FC Soccer Academies had a great experience at Olympiacos FC Academy Headquarters in Greece. Players were trained by top-level Olympiacos FC Academy coaches. Players also enjoyed fun friendly matches between all participating Olympiacos FC Academies. Academy representatives from Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington DC, Olympiacos Soccer Club New York and Olympiacos Soccer Club Kitchener (Canada) presented plaques on behalf of their respective academies to Vasilis Nanos, Head of the Olympiacos FC Soccer School Network.

OLYMPIACOS DC TO HOLD SUMMER CAMP

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC will host summer camp for U11 - U17 players during the weeks of July 11, 18, and 25 from 9am-12pm at Maston District Park - Front Turf Field in Annandale, VA. OLYMPIACOS DC YOUTH TEAMS TRYOUTS

Olympiacos DC is looking for talented and hard-working players for an ELITE Olympiacos DC U13 Boys Team for the 2022-23 soccer year. Tryouts begin Tuesdays and Thursdays in June. The club is holding tryouts this week on Wednesday, June 29th and on Thursday, June 30th from 7pm-8:30pm at Mason District Park (Annandale, VA). We are also hosting tryouts for U14 and U16 Boys Teams on Wednesday, June 29th at 7pm-8:30pm and on June 30th at 5pm-6:30pm at Mason District Park (Annandale, VA). Please fill out the registration form online to register.  

Olympiacos DC is forming new (and existing) youth teams for the Fall 2022 season. All players and teams will practice 2-3 times per week on local turf fields and compete in a variety of leagues and tournaments depending on the team. Olympiacos DC youth teams will compete in the CCL league for the Fall 2022 season.

2022 VIRGINIA CANNON CUP CHAMPION

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC's U15 Boys finished out the Spring 2022 season with a championship, placing first at the 2022 Virginia Cannon Cup Soccer Tournament.

Olympiacos DC's U15 Boys Team dominated in their division at the 2022 Virginia Cannon Cup going 3-0-1, finishing the tournament with a 4-0 win in the finals. Congratulations to Olympiacos DC's U15 Boys!

OLYMPIACOS DC PLAYER BEGINS HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER IN EUROPE

Olympiacos DC player, Andres Gomez, was sent to Germany to begin his professional journey. He's off to an impressive start scoring five goals in his first five games. Gomez is already making a huge statement and quickly becoming an impact player on the team. “If you want to be heard, set a sign! We will hear a lot more from Andres in the future. These are just the first steps and we will help and support him making the next ones," said Olympiacos DC's Technical Director and Head Coach Philipp Wank. The entire Olympiacos DC family is very proud of you, Andres!

OLYMPIACOS DC'S SEMI-PROFESSIONAL TEAM – 2022 MARYLAND STATE CUP FINALIST

In a valiant effort, Olympiacos DC's semi-professional team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the 2022 Maryland Stewart Cup against Christos FC. The match was decided in penalty kicks after a 1:1 result in regular time. Led by Olympiacos DC's Techincal Director and Head Coach, Philipp Wank, the boys played hard throughout the tournament finishing as finalists in one of the most prestigious semi-professional tournaments in the state of Maryland.

OLYMPIACOS DC ANNOUNCES EXPANSION TO THE MARYLAND REGION

Olympiacos DC is excited to announce that we are expanding to the Maryland Region. The club is forming new U16 and U17 youth teams in Maryland for the Spring 2022 season. Tryouts were held on January 6, 2022 at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland. Not even the bitter cold and snowy fields could stop over 50 players from trying out to be a part of our Olympiacos DC Academy! The teams are expected to play in the EDP soccer league. Fill out the registration form online to register.

History was made on December 4, 2021 when a historic friendly showcase event took place between the Olympiacos New York and Olympiacos Washington, DC Academies. A huge crowd, and and major Greek media outlets were present to cover this historic exhibition event. Olympiacos FC Academy officials in Greece, New York, and Washington, DC expressed their excitement and pride to be a part of this successful event.

HISTORIC OLYMPIACOS INAUGURAL SEMI-PRO SHOWCASE EXHIBITION EVENT

Olympiacos Soccer Club, New York will host Olympiacos Soccer Club, Washington DC in a historic inaugural semi-pro showcase scrimmage event. The friendly match will take place Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 5:30 PM, Eastern Time at Maritime College in the Bronx, NY (Reinhart Field). Dignitaries from the Greek-American community along with Olympiacos DC and Olympiacos NY Academy officials will be present at this inaugural showcase exhibition event. Greek media outlets will also be on hand to cover this special event. Livestream in at 5:00pm for pregame coverage!

OLYMPIACOS DC'S UPSL MEN'S PRO DEVELOPMENT TEAM ADVANCES TO DIVISION FINAL FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE SEASON

Olympiacos DC's United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Men's Professional Development Team advances to the Division Final for a second consectutive season after an intense and thrilling 4-3 victory over CVSA-Prep4Pro FC. There were four goals in a 10-minute span in the second half as CVSA-Prep4Pro went ahead twice only to be pegged back by Olympiacos DC. The score was 2-2 after 90 minutes when Olympiacos DC went ahead in the first half of extra time, courtesy of an own goal before adding another from the penalty spot just before the break, but the visitors replied in the second half of extra time to make for a nail-biting finish. Andres Gomez had a brace for Olympiacos DC with Adrian Morgan scoring the other goal. The Beltway-South Premier Division Final will take place Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 4:30pm vs Lynchburgh FC. OLYMPIACOS DC'S UPSL MEN'S PRO DEVELOPMENT TEAM ON TO THE PLAYOFFS

For the second consecutive season, Olympiacos DC's United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Men's Professional Development Team is in the playoffs (Division Semifinal)! Led by Olympiacos DC's Techincal Director and Head Coach, Philipp Wank, the boys played hard throughout the UPSL Fall 2021 season to finish in second place in the regular season of the Northeast Conference - Beltway South - Premier Division. The Premier Division is considered the top-tier in the league, as its standards of participation is higher than in any other Division of the UPSL. The Division Semifinal match will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. vs CVSA-Prep4Pro FC.  The team is encouraging fans to come watch live at Annadale High School (Home Playoff Match) and cheer them on! OLYMPIACOS DC WELCOMES NEW ASSISTANT COACH

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is pleased to announce Malcom "Xavier" Djiki as the club’s new assistant coach. Xavier has been with the club since the tail-end of the inaugural UPSL 2021 Spring Season serving as an assistant coach helping the Men's Professional Development Team reach the conference final.

A formal local product of the DMV area, Coach Xavier has played for the likes of Bethesda Soccer Club, Baltimore Armour's Academy, Potomac Soccer Association's U23 team, and a short stint with DCU's U23 team. A former commit of local D1 Howard University, and D2 Ashland University soccer programs respectively, he played his collegiate soccer at D3 York College of Pennsylvania.

Coach Xavier holds a USSF 'D' National Coaching License, and will be assisting Head Coach Philipp Wank with game related activities as well as leading the UPSL team during the pre-season. Welcome to the Olympiacos Family, Xavier!

OLYMPIACOS DC WELCOMES HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is pleased to announce Alessandro Ciarla as the club’s head athletic trainer. Ciarla is the Director of Sports Performance and Rehabilitation at Arrington Training & Development (ATD), and will also serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for Olympiacos DC. Ciarla looks to bring his experience working with professional and collegiate Division I soccer organizations to provide sports medicine services to the Olympiacos DC soccer club. Ciarla works out of the ATD Performance Facility in Rockville, MD, where he works with numerous elite athletes to improve their conditioning, rehabilitate injuries, and re-integrate back to sport. Ciarla is also the Head Trainer for the professional women's soccer team, the Washington Spirit! Welcome aboard, Alessandro!

U14 BOYS UNDEFEATED IN 2021 ICEBREAKER TOURNAMENT

Olympiacos DC’s U14 Boys competed in the 2021 Icebreaker Tournament (March 27-28) going 2-0 in group play. Unfortunately, the boys were unable to finish the tournament due to thunderstorms. The remainder of the tournament was cancelled. Congratulations to the U14 boys for their effort and success.

SEMI-FINALISTS - 2021 McLEAN PREMIER CUP

Olympiacos DC’s U14 Boys competed in the McLean Premier Cup Tournament (March 6-7) going 2-1 with a tough loss in the semi-finals. The team played well throughout the tournament finishing in 3rd place.

UPSL ANNOUNCES BELTWAY EXPANSION WITH OLYMPIACOS DC

The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) announced Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC as its newest expansion team ahead of the Spring Season.

Olympiacos DC has been selected to begin UPSL play in the Spring Season as part of the Northeast Conference Beltway Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at Annandale High School (4700 Medford Ave., Annandale, VA 22003).

UPSL Northeast Conference Manager Paul Konneh said, "Olympiacos DC is an outstanding addition to the UPSL and we're happy to have them join the Beltway Division. The club has a lot of experience in player development, both here in the United States and in Europe, and they make the most of their connection to Olympiacos FC in Greece. We're looking forward to seeing Olympiacos DC play in the UPSL."

Harry Karageorge is President & Founder of Olympiacos DC. Philipp Wank serves as Technical Director and Head Coach.

"Olympiacos DC is excited to a part of the UPSL family. The UPSL will challenge our players as we develop a local professional development team to represent the values and philsophy of our parent soccer club in Greece, Olympiacos FC, on and off the field," Karageorge said.

"We are excited to play in the UPSL. The UPSL provides an environment for top soccer players to further their collegiate and professional ambitions while offering a competitive soccer landscape," Wank said.

Olympiacos DC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). 

The Men's Professional Development Team will have a tremendous impact on all of the youth teams within the Olympiacos DC Academy. It will also serve as an avenue for professional development soccer play in the UPSL for the club's youth players. Link to the official UPSL press release.

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC (Olympiacos DC) is excited to announce the formation of a Men's Professional Development Soccer Team. Technical Director, Philipp Wank, will lead this effort as the Head Coach of the team. Olympiacos DC officials expressed their enthusiasm about this project which will have a tremendous positive impact on the Olympiacos DC Academy. OLYMPIACOS DC ANNOUNCES JUNIOR LEGENDS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Junior Legends Program is an 8-week youth development program focused on helping young soccer players develop their skills while enjoying the great game of soccer. Training is 2 days per week during each session (Fall and Spring sessions). Through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, free play and fun games, players ages 4 to 8 years old will learn the basic techniques of dribbling, passing, receiving and turning with the ball. The primary goal is to find fun ways to develop soccer skills and a passion for the game while giving players the freedom to try their skills in a game setting.

OLYMPIACOS DC ANNOUNCES NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is excited to announce Philipp Wank as the Club's new Technical Director!

Along with his impressive credentials, Coach Wank brings deep experience and fantastic leadership to this role. He additionally brings an extensive track record of technical leadership and player development at some of the highest levels of soccer in Europe, and is widely regarded for his ability to develop and grow the sport of soccer at all levels.

Coach Wank will be responsible for developing a technical vision and curriculum for all Olympiacos DC players, and will oversee the Olympiacos DC coaching staff. Coach Wank comes from Dortmund, Germany, and holds a UEFA B coaching license which he obtained with Honors from the German Soccer Federation. In Germany, he coached the high school team Phönix Gymnasium Dortmund, the 1st senior team of the South Dortmund Soccer Club ('02). Coach Wank also coached the competitive U19 team of SUS Kaiserau. After arriving to the United States, he coached the Arrington Training & Development's (ATD's) U23 academy team, and worked with the Division I Men’s Soccer Team at Howard University.

Most recently, Coach Wank was the Director of Tactical and Mental Development with Olympiacos DC. Philipp specializes in soccer tactics and developed and implemented his own soccer related life kinetic program as a new approach to create intelligent and creative players at a top level.

Harry Karageorge, Olympiacos DC’s President and Founder states, “We are excited that Coach Wank is taking on the role of Technical Director for the Club. He has great experience and technical soccer knowledge. He will be a tremendous asset to the Club during this absolutely exciting time for Olympiacos DC. The future of the Club looks very bright!”

OLYMPIACOS DC'S FIRST MARYLAND TEAM

European style soccer is coming to Maryland! Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is forming their first elite 2004-05 (U16) boys soccer team in Maryland!

As an official Olympiacos F.C. Academy, Olympiacos DC has access to and adheres to the training standards of one of the biggest and renowned soccer clubs in Europe. Our coaches employ the newest European training methods, including but not limited to, life kinetics. A special emphasis is placed on the tactical education and development aspect of the players. We have highly qualified and professional coaches from Europe with UEFA B coaching licenses and other certifications. 

We’re hosting 3 tryout sessions for the 2020-21 season for BOYS (born 2004 & 2005).  See information in flyer!

2019 CAPITAL FALL CLASSIC CHAMPION

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC's U15 Boys traveled to Richmond, Virginia (November 23-24, 2019) to finish out the Fall season, placing first at the 2019 Capital Fall Classic Soccer Tournament.

Olympiacos DC's U15 Boys dominated in their division at the Capital Fall Classic going 3-0-1, finishing the tournament with a 4-0 win in the finals. This tournament championship win qualifies the team as an entrant for the 2020 Jefferson Cup, regarded as one of the top 5 soccer tournaments in the country. Congratulations to Olympiacos DC's U15 Boys!

TRYOUTS FOR 2020 SPRING SEASON

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is forming new teams, and adding to their existing rosters for the upcoming Spring season.

Olympiacos DC is hosting tryouts for Boys (birth years 2001 - 2012), and for Girls (birth years 2005 - 2008). They are looking to add players of all abilities to their teams.

All players and teams will practice 2-3 times per week on local turf fields and compete in a variety of leagues and tournaments depending on the team. Olympiacos DC teams will compete in NCSL and ODSL.

1ST ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC is having a raffle for their 1st Annual Scholarship Fundraiser. They are selling only 100 raffle tickets at $100 each.  First prize is $500 cash, second prize is an autographed Olympiacos jersey, and third prize is Apple Airpods.  They will also have many more prizes from restaurant gift certificates to gift cards.

OLYMPIACOS DC PLAYERS HELP TO FEED THE HUNGRY

In honor of National Day of Service and Remembrance, players on the Olympiacos DC 2005 Boys Team volunteer to help assemble meals to be packed and shipped around the world to those struggling with hunger through the "Rise Against Hunger" organization. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.

OLYMPIACOS DC BOYS TEAMS FINISH STRONG IN THE 2019 DULLES NATIONAL SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Olympiacos DC’s U15, U13, and U12 Boys teams played well in the Dulles National Soccer Tournament over the Labor Day Weekend. The U15 Boys finished 3rd in the top bracket (Premiere Bracket) of their division. The U12 Boys finished as finalists in their bracket while the U13 Boys were the champions of their bracket!

FINALIST 2019 VIRGINIAN ELITE TOURNAMENT

Olympiacos U14 Boys played well at the Virginian Elite Soccer  Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend going 3-1-1 with a tough 0-1 (double overtime) loss in the finals.

Olympiacos Soccer Club Washington, DC, one of Northern Virginia’s premier youth soccer programs, announced the acquisition of CYC soccer program. Olympiacos DC will operate recreation and travel soccer programs year round providing a comprehensive soccer development experience for athletes from the beginner to the advanced level.

OLYMPIACOS DC PLAYER SELECTED TO REPRESENT VIRGINIA ON THE 2019 VYSA'S ODP INTERNATIONAL TOUR

Congratulations to Olympiacos DC Striker, Leonardo Borda, for being selected to represent Virginia on the 2019 VYSA's ODP International Tour. Players travel this Spring to Utrecht, Netherlands (Holland) and Duisburg, Germany to play top European academies, take in professional matches and tour historical soccer stadiums.

We welcome Andreas Tsaousis to Olympiacos DC. Andreas handles the goalkeeping training for the Jr. Academy and Academy teams. He attends George Mason University where he's the starting goalkeeper for the Patriots.

OLYMPIACOS CHICAGO ALUMNI JOINS USL LEAGUE

Congratulations to Olympiacos Chicago alumni, Nick Markanich (right). Nick has joined the Green Bay Voyageurs of the USL League Two.

USL League Two has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world, with more than 70 percent of all selections in the MLS SuperDraft since 2010 having PDL experience, including 66 selections in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

OLYMPIACOS DC SELECTED TO PLAY IN ASIST

Olympiacos DC 05 Boys have been selected to play in the 2019 Arlington Spring Invitational Tournament. They will compete in a bracket that includes McLean Green 05 Boys, Arlington SA White 05 Boys, and LMVSC Patriots 05 Boys White (VA) and several other top clubs from the DMV area.

Olympiacos DC 05 Boys went 1,2,1 competing in the St Patrick's Day Invitational against Fredericksburg FC Black (ranked #17 in VA) and TSA Sharks United (ranked #20 in VA).

PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Olympiacos DC begins a strategic partnership with Functional Fitness VA. Functional Fitness VA will provide performance training to Olympiacos DC players during the 2019 off-season. Players receive training in three phases over a three month period.

WINTER LEAGUE 2019

Olympiacos DC 05 Boys kicked off the new year playing in the Beltway Premier Outdoor League against top teams from Pipeline FC, Calverton Academy, PWSI, and others. The team finished fourth defeating top-ranked Calverton Cerritos SA U14 Boys (3-0), tieing Severna Park Premier Green U15 Boys (4-4) and suffering tough losses (0-3) to Pipeline Academy U13 Boys (ranked #2 in the country) and Pipeline Academy U15 Boys.

FINALISTS - 2018 CAPITAL FALL CLASSIC

Our Olympiacos DC U14 Boys (21-6-1 Fall 2018) traveled to Richmond, Virginia to finish out the Fall season, placing second at the Capital Fall Classic.

LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - FALL 2018

Olympiacos U14 Boys went 8-0 in league play, outscoring their opponents by 50+ goals while surrendering only six goals. Nearly 65% of goals scored were developed from "buildup of play" through the backline (GK, LCB, RCB, LB & RB)!

FINALISTS - 2018 SOUTH COUNTY TOURNAMENT

The U14 team brought their "A" game to the South County Tournament as they faced some of the Northern Virginia's top teams. The back line set over forty-five offside traps over the four games!

Our U14 Boys team played some amazing soccer in the President's Cup but unfortunately, they won't be playing in the finals this year.

SEMI-FINALISTS - 2018 OBGC CAPITAL CUP

Olympiacos U14 Boys faired well at the top-rated Labor Day tournament in Region I.  They won their flight but lost a tight, hard-fought semi-final match to one of the top U14 teams in Maryland. Overall, the team placed third out of 13 teams.
